SELF LOVE

Self-love is a fundamental pillar of leading a fulfilling and meaningful life. It involves genuinely caring about oneself and treating oneself with kindness and compassion, both physically and emotionally. In a world that can often be demanding and critical, cultivating self-love requires a conscious effort to prioritise self-care.

Here are some tips to help you practise self-love:

1. Find time for yourself. Set aside some time each day to do something that brings you joy. Whether it's reading, taking a relaxing bath, or going for a walk, make time for activities that allow you to unwind and recharge.

2. Be kind to yourself. Treat yourself as you would a dear friend. Avoid negative self-talk and focus on positive affirmations. Accept your flaws and appreciate your strengths.

3. Caring for your body: Take care of your physical health by eating well, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep. Indulge in activities that promote physical well-being, such as practising yoga or taking a dance class.

4. Set boundaries: Learn to say no when needed and establish healthier boundaries in your relationships. Prioritising your needs and respecting your limits are essential to maintaining healthy relationships.

5. Forgive yourself: Let go of past mistakes and forgive yourself for any wrongdoings. Practising self-compassion creates space for growth and promotes well-being.

Remember, self-love is not a destination but rather a lifelong journey. By actively practising self-love, you will create a more fulfilling and positive life for yourself.

Hip-Hop Love Stories and the Construction of Socially Acceptable Urban Identities

Hip-Hop has historically existed as a male-dominated industry. Being a reflection of urban life and struggle, past Hip-Hop artists have been forced to maintain a certain level of masculinity in order to be accepted by their urban communities. Old school rappers who talked about love were often viewed as soft or corny. Because of this perception, the existence of love in Hip-Hop is a fairly new concept.  As the movement has gained support and recognition throughout the world, love has become an increasingly common theme in Hip-Hop music and poetry. However, the taboo still exists. Even today, Hip-Hop artists and poets present their love stories in a manner that allows them to maintain socially acceptable identities. Hip-Hop stories about love must still meet the masculine ideology in which the movement is rooted in order to be perceived as real and true. The purpose of this study is to analyze Hip-Hop love narratives and how artists present these love stories in order to co...

THE NEW INDIAN PARLIAMENT HOUSE

INTRO  The Indian Parliament meets at the New Parliament House in New Delhi. It is home to India's lower and upper houses of parliament, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, respectively. A new parliament building was built in New Delhi as part of India's Central Vista Redevelopment Project. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened it on May 28, 2023.  It is positioned 750 meters from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sansad Marg, which crosses Central Vista, and is surrounded by the Vijay Chowk, India Gate, National War Memorial (India), Vice President's House, Hyderabad House, Secretariat Building, Prime Minister's office and residence, ministerial buildings, and other administrative units of the Indian government. Due to worries about the integrity of the older structure, proposals for a new parliament building to replace the current complex first surfaced in the early 2010s. Then-Speaker Meera Kumar established a committee in 2012 to make recommendations for a number of replacements for t...

Ignorance and Fantasy

Are beliefs not often the children of ignorance and fantasy? Consider the heavenly view of the world that young souls entertain at the height of their innocence, when their youth has been surrounded by love and filled with happiness. Hear their laughter. Dreams expand in a vacuity of knowledge like a laughing gas and induce the blindest, the purest joy.  Ignorance is bliss, as they say, because it spares us the mental restraints associated with knowledge (which reveals the limits of reality and hence the impossibility of our fantasies). It is the ultimate playground where the mind can build castles in the air, create a wonderland, and live delightedly in this kingdom of reverie. It paves the way for the reign of error, as it leaves us to believe whatever we like. Everything that is desirable is realizable, if not real, until we find evidence to the contrary. Santa Claus eventually dies of our old age – when we are no longer so young, so green, that we are easily fooled by a ...
